STAY AWAY FROM THESE ********S

Been with Outsurance since 2020, Only had my first claim in 2023 after a small accident with minor cosmetic damages.

1. They sent me to a repair shop outside of my area 2. The repair shop was a panel-beating shop that ended up replacing my radiator when there was nothing wrong with it. (Supply fitted alternative). Note: Drove 1400km with 0 issues before booking the car in at said Panel shop. Also a the shop doesnt operate in loadshedding which then made me wait 3 weeks to fix a tiny dent in my bonnet.

A week after receiving the car back, I got my first "check engine light". This lead to me thinking I have a glowplug issue because the car was stuttering.

Fought again with Outsurance as I have a mechanical warranty, OUTSURANCE *********ED me to cancel the warranty cause I couldn't prove 2 services in my service history within the 1 hour they gave me to get it. (Note: full service history on ODB of car and since then found the missing 2 stamped services in my book)

After this ordeal, I pulled my car out of the shop, got stuck in gear and pulled it straight back in for diagnostics (Gearbox Oil Cooler seals blew and pushed water into my gearbox/trans/clutch)

Opened the claim on the 8th of Dec, they (Outsurance) DID NOT send an assessor to the shop till early January after postponing and ignoring my emails (The correspondence was 67 emails with up to 6 days wait time on reply) They deemed this wear and tear after getting a vague assessment done that doesn't even prove their findings in any way or form. THEY sent me to a subpar repair shop that fitted the wrong radiator and blew the seals in my Trans Oil Cooler. But now takes 0 responsibility and chalking it up to wear and tear.

Now we're halfway through FEB, Myself and my lawyer can't even get Outsurance to sit down and discuss what has happened and their extreme failure to communicate and assist their customers.

Note: Car sitting with 73k of damages, Outsurance not taking any responsibility for their actions, or lack thereof.

Will update my post once I get answers.

Good afternoon George,

Further to our private reply to you, on receipt of your complaint, our assessing manager Marnus met with you and your attorney and noted your concerns.

Since this meeting we have further reviewed the matter and your mentioned concerns.

We initially provided you with a substantial amount of time to provide us with your service history and rejected the claim based on not receiving this. After the meeting with Marnus we gave you a further opportunity to submit your service history however we have since not received your full-service history.

Since rejecting your claim, based on specialist reports, you chose to take your vehicle to a service provider of your choice which led to additional costs, that we cannot be held accountable for.

We have however made a decision, as a gesture of good faith, to assist with a partial payment of your storage and stripping fees.

We understand that this experience has been disappointing and are sorry that we could not provide you with the outcome you were looking for.

Regards,
The OUTsurance Team
