Shop around before committing to Outsurance
Constantly intrusive calling strategy aside, the consultant on the phone was extremely helpful. However, still beware of Outsurance and what they advertise.
When shopping around, make sure you compare insurance products, and don't believe the advertising hype on TV and radio. I have just taken out insurance with MiWay (HIGHLY recommended), and was contacted by Outsurance in the same day. I spoke with the consultant who guided me through the process, and received:
1. A higher minimum excess than Outsurance (roughly R1500 more per single claim). 2. A higher excess on glass replacement (roughly R600 more per single claim).
And, for the real kicker: R4,000.00 per month MORE (R5,600.00 vs almost R9,600.00) than MiWay! It's a no-brainer - MiWay got our business back.
The morning has come and gone, and the promised phone call has not materialised. Seeing as though you have not called as yet, please, do not bother to do so now - this has just cemented my reason for sticking with an insurance company who has not only their best interests at heart, but also their customers' as well. However, it is my sincere wish that the public that reads these reviews, takes these negative comments to heart, and vote with their wallets, as well as where they get good service from.
And, please, do not come with a response to the tune of, 'your consultant tried to call but there was no answer', because my phone is in perfect working order, having received many calls - including from MiWay - who does things My Way.
