Scatty, disorganised team give flippant assessment

After the intense rains of the storm that hit Cape Town my bathroom roof started leaking. I called Outsurance. Almost a week later when they finally got someone to come out, a Patrick someone-or-other, he arrived an hour later then our scheduled appointment, keeping me arbitrarily waitng around my rental property. This was after they had mixed up the claim address and home address about 3/4 times and asked for the address by phone several times. The guy then asked me if he should park under a huge no parking sign, thankfully he did not in the end. He then proceeded to flippantly dismiss my claim as fair wear and tear, regardless of the fact that the DELUGE of water in the storm from the previous week had forced cracks into the waterproofing surrounding a skylight and had leaked into the bathroom ceiling, thereby ruining the painint and grouting work. He talked so much it was hard to get a word in edgewise. Bulldozing you out of your claim so to speak. No doubt Outsurance is trying to minimise their payouts over the storm. Also when we were climbing up onto the roof the agent made comments regarding my weight and ininuated that the structure might not hold.

Bad manners, tardiness, getting the facts wrong, bulldozing clients, discourteous manner, flippancy in face of legitimate claims, reluctance to payout and honour commitments are NOT what I would call good service from any company or insurance company. I will be seeking alternative insurance and am left with the ultimate bad taste in my mouth. Feeling like I have been bul**** by SA insurance's dominant company exploiting their size to give lousy service.
