Review of OUTsurance Quote Experience

I recently requested a quote from OUTsurance, drawn in by their promise of an “obligation-free” process and the advertised reward of R500 (or R1500 if you haven’t claimed in the last three years) if they couldn’t beat my current insurance. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t match the promise.

After providing my details, OUTsurance couldn’t beat my existing insurance premium. Instead of honoring the reward offer, I was redirected to their life cover department for another sales pitch. The call agent assured me that I would receive the promotional code for the R1500, but that email never arrived.

This left me questioning how OUTsurance is ranked number one when they fail to deliver on their own commitments. Their punchline, “You always get something out”, felt misleading in practice — I got nothing out of the process except wasted time and upselling attempts.

If OUTsurance wants people to move their cover, they need to start by keeping their promises. Trust is built on consistency, not marketing slogans.
