Reneging on agreement
My mother's car was involved in an accident and Outsurance said they would not pay the R25 000 to repair the vehicle but would write it off and pay out R69000. I queried this because it did not make sense not to repair the car. Subsequent to several phonecalls and emails, I was told that if we signed a disclaimer, we would be paid out R31 580 and would be liable for repairing the car ourselves. I received telephonic confirmation of this by Xinilia and the disclaimer was signed. I was then called by the GM, Thato Legong and told that Outsurance had messed up on several fronts and would now be repairing the car and not writing it off. Over a month later now, I have been told by the company repairing the car that Outsurance is refusing to pay because of a quibble of R1000 with the repair company and has now decided to write off the car. My 78 year old mother has been without a car for 6 weeks and the ongoing lies, *******ion and confusion of Outsurance is unacceptable. They said the car would be repaired and they are now going back on their word completely. Shocking and unacceptable business practice
