Poor service Outsurance

I was involved in a very nasty accident on 14 October 2021 in the parking lot of Macro. I was withput a vehicle for 3 months and only received it back on 15 December 2021, the day the panelbeater closed for the Christmas period. Since the panelbeayers open again am I in a struggle.

The airconditioner is damaged. Outsurance decided not to repair it as it is regarded as "a wear and tear part and can break anytime". The report also indicate that there are now visable damage. I desputed that and sunce then I sent them a photo of the VISABLE damage, and sent numerous emails regarding it. Then I will get a call from somebody asking me what my complaint is... dont they read emails, and numerous promises of "we will come back to you" etc. Then you wait and wait and they never came back... Do Outsurance think by ignoring it, the problem will go away ? All I want is that I get treted fairly. This is now more than 5 months since my struggle stated and more than 8 months after the accident. My trust in Outsurance is very low at the moment and I dont appreciate being treated like this. I am considering changing insurance and so is at least 10 of my family members! I lost trust in them and doubt tha they will ever get back to me. PS. Getting a call centre agent with no authority to patronise me is a slap in my face!

Good afternoon Rudi,

Further to our private reply after receiving your complaint, our client liaison manager Lebogang has been in contact with you to discuss your concerns.

He has mentioned that the aircon will unfortunately not be repaired due to the cause being wear and tear, which is not covered on your policy. The report detailing this was provided to us by the manufacturer.

He further advised that you are welcome to get a second opinion for the aircon from a reputable and accredited service provider and provide us with this report.

You informed us that you will be approaching the Ombudsman for short term insurance for their opinion, which you have every right to do so.

We understand that the outcome is disappointing and we apologise for this.

Please feel free to contact us should you require further assistance or clarity.

Regards,
OUTsurance
