Poor service

On the 10th of March 2017 my vehicle, a Mazda 6, was involved in an accident. A motorcyclist driving an unlicenced and unroadworthy motorcylce drove into the side of my car at speed causing extensive damage, my fiance, who is the regular driver of this vehicle, was driving at the time of the accident. My car was towed, assessed and authorisation given for repair, the service from Outsurance was great at the start of my claim, until my car was delivered to their service provider, Van Zyl's autobody, to carry out repairs and this is where I believe things started going pear shaped. Apparently my car was delivered to them with a completely dead battery and that I need to provide a new one or they could sell me a new battery, when I started raising questions it was added to their additionals list. When I queried about expected date of completion I was told that they can't tell me yet as there aren't parts available in South Africa for my vehicle and that said parts needs to be imported, but I should be patient as parts are very expensive and the vehicle should have been WRITTEN OFF!!! Which I was told Outsurance is aware of. I was eventually given a completion date of 05/05/2017 which was a Friday. Monday came and went with no phone call, on Tuesday I was boiling and I contacted the service provider to be told that Mazda Hatfield never delivered the parts and that the expected time of arrival for the parts should be on the 25/05/2017. When I asked them to provide me with a courtesy car seeing as its going to take them in the region of 3 months to repair my vehicle but they stated its not their fault that my car is'nt completed yet, even though I have proof that by the 16th of May Van zyl's autobody is still not finished with my car which means that even if they had all the parts from Mazda hatfield, who they blame for the hold up, I would still be waiting. I have lodged a complaint with outsurance concerning this matter and only receive apologies but no solutions. I have twice so far requested copies of the invoices relating to the repair of my vehicle and to speak to a manager, verbally and written, I was told the manager is in a meeting, I will check with Guiness book of records but I'm sure it's the longest meeting held to date. To say the least, I am very disappointed with outsurance and the service I am getting.

Jason Grobler
