Persuasive Deception - OUTsurance false Advertising!!!

FALSE **** ADVERTISING!!!!!!! MISLEADING COMMITMENTS!!! PRETENTIOUS COMMERCIALS!!!! I have not been this disanointed for trusting in what I believed in, in a long, long time. My entire family is insured thorough OUTsurance, and I have previously used OUTsurance whenever I needed to have Insurance.... But after my last experience I will never ever in my life and will also never again tell people that they cannot go wrong.... I have purchased a new car 2 weeks ago and obviously OUTsurance was my only choice. I took insurance through another company just to be able to take ownership of the car but first thing getting home phoned OUTsurance convinced that they will give me the best deal. After phoning them to get the cover, the consultant could not quote anywhere close to the premium I was offered by the other company. But I was even prepared to pay a bit more to be with a company I had faith in. After advising him what my premium was and what the perks was, he couldn't even get close by taking off the courtesy car which I had with the other company, removing the Top Up Insurance and having me on an excess payment of an unthinkable amount. I then told him that as per their CONTINOUS ADVERTISING AND PROMISES I feel that they could at least give me the R500 they proms and advertise everywhere if they can’t beat a quote. I would have thought that after having to hear them making these promises over and over that at least I had that. And I asked the consultant about it, with no response, I ended the call and gave them a bad rating on their ‘AWESOME SERVICE" rating request. I received call back from a very friendly and helpful lady advising that she will escalate. I then received a mail from a very rude person which I was totally disgusted about, requesting personal information: 1. Full current Insurance policy in bold stated NOT A SUMMARY, must not be older than 30 days (not older than 30 days ok great this is a new car I wanted a quote on they which they couldn't give me better price) 2. The Excess Structure 3. The main underwriting information -Vehicle make, model, claim history, personal information Regular driver/s, Risk Address, Security, Type of use, Licence details, Sum insured, Type of cover, extra’s etc. 4. The existence of additional vehicle benefits such as: Car hire, Extended 3rd Party cover and Credit shortfall. Free benefits like Help@out and the OUTbonus will NOT form part of the comparison. He also wanted, Banking details and the OTP (OTP what the hell) what does he want my OTP for 1. OTP 2. Bank 3. Account holder name 4. Type of account 5. Account number I rep**** on his mail and forward him my policy scheduled I ended up taking out with Discovery, because I got a great deal, no excess class B courtesy vehicle etc. The entire welcome pack banking details etc. Everything he asked for. Just to receive a response from this guy: We regret to inform you, that you do not qualify for the R500 due to: Terms & Conditions examples, Your vehicle has not been insured for more than 30 days with your current insurance. Thank you for your interest in OUTsurance. There was no mention in their falsely advertised TV or radio adds ever advising that they are promising better deals for existing policy holders of a policies at least 30 days old. They advertise to beat any Premium or Quote 'Do your thing, get back Ching…… What a joke. Piece of my mind: Stay away from OUTsurance and their empty promises and lies

After all of this the audacity to send me another "Awesome Service Survey" emails

What do they expect...…???? 5 Stars Awesome Persuasive Deception

Hi Jessica

We are very sorry you had such an unpleasant encounter on your recent interaction with us. You are right to expect courteous, respectful, and professional service from us and we sincerely apologise for the disappointing feedback regarding the promotion.

We would never deceive clients nor engage in any such activity. As you have confirmed, our Terms and Conditions state:

Part of the information required above will be a schedule of your existing insurance cover, confirming that the insurance was effective for at least 30 days prior to the date of our quote. This schedule may not be older than 30 days.

We rely on our Terms and Conditions to set the rules and guidelines that clients must agree to and follow in order to participate and qualify for the promotion.

We escalated this matter to our Quote Promotions Supervisor for urgent attention and assistance. Our Supervisor tried to call you to address your concerns and assist with resolve. She will contact you again during the course of the day.
