Pensioners Home Ruined
On the 11th of January, my Grandmother of 89 years old had to see the worst day of her life as her home which she'd lived in for 50 years got ruined by a dreadful storm. This natural disaster blew the roof off, of her home, leaving the place flooded and her furniture ruined. We immediately contacted Outsurance to lodge a claim ( ********** 60).
Outsurance, it's been more than 21 days now and we still have not gotten anything fixed!!! contractor upon contractor has been sent out, a number of evaluators/assessors had also come out and guess what's the outcome? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Day after day we've waited for contractors to pitch losing out on hours of work and more money but they didn't even call or turn up at all.
In addition to this / a point worthy of mention is that my grandfather who is now late had been with Outsurance for 20 - 25 years and now my granny has taken over the account which she pays R726, 50 p/m. Therefore, why do you take these pensioners money every month and then leave them without a home for almost a month? I am certain that another premium will be charged this month and still no repairs will proceed. We are emotionally drained and disheartened to look at a home that once was kept to its standard but now lays there in shambles. My only Plea is that one of your glorified members on those adverts where you promise so much will now come forward and put this case to rest by restoring what once was a home. You so willingly gave 400 out to the public when you could not beat their current insurance offerings so why can't you serve your paying members properly?
Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention and also for accepting our sincere apologies for the major inconvenience your grandmother is suffering.
Both Sindile as well as our claims manager, Lwethu made contact with you and provided you with feedback on emergency repairs we are attending to as well as the way forward until the claim is finalised.
