Pensioner claim rejected cause of part in tv not covered!

The claim was logged on 29th September, almost a full two weeks and no-one from Outsurance phoned to give an update on the status of the claim. When i called to get feedback, i am told that my claim is rejected as the part in the TV that is broken is not covered by insurance! Have you ever heard something like that! Since when do you have to insure individual parts of your TV!!!! The TV is one unit and sold as such, i didn't buy the TV part for part and assemble it myself!

I am a pensioner of 67, who has been a client of Outsurance for many many years. I have never claimed from my insurance and has always received an outsurance bonus for not claiming. On my very first claim this is the service and bull I get!!!!

On 28th September whilst watching TV, the screen just went blank. There was still power running to the TV, but no picture. I disconnected the cable from the power socket and reconnected it. Once again there was power to the TV but still no picture on the screen. Then there was a smell of burning plastic and smoke coming out from the top of the TV. I immediately disconnected the power cable. On the 29th September I called Outsurance to process a claim. The consultant advised that an assessor will be sent out to take a look at the TV. Thekwini PC Repair Centre T/A TAC came by to collect the TV on the 29th September. Almost a full two weeks later, I still hadn't received any feedback from the assessor or Outsurance and decided to call themto find out what is going on and when will i get my repaired TV back or a replacement. The consultant advised that the claim was rejected as the damaged part in the TV was not covered! The consultant told me to refer to a certain clause in the FINE PRINT of my policy advising me that a certain part in the TV is not covered! WHAT THE HELL!!!! Best of all I cannot get my old TV back cause the assessor says they do not have authority to release from Outsurance. How do i know that my TV has not been stripped of any good parts and i will be given back my old TV with original parts. This is an absolute ******* CON GAME! You pay your insurance for circumstances like this and get done over with FINE PRINT!!!!!!

Thank you for the amicable manner in which we could have discussed the matter.
Our claims manager, Cardo also contacted you and explained the general exclusion of wear and tear. He discussed our revised decision to settle the claim and also our reasons for same.
