Outsurance's prolonged claim structure.
THE FACTS On the 26th of March 2020, an Outsurance client drove through a red traffic light and wrote my car off, the claim process only started being spoken about from the 25th May 2020 - due to lockdown and the claim department being closed. I had 3 witnesses in my vehicle at the time of the accident, they only contacted one of the three, who stated that the traffic lights were working and that it was in fact green for me. Once the claim process had begun, I was asked to get proof that the traffic lights were working, even though I had witnesses. I followed through with emails updating Outsurance and due to the fact that receiving traffic light information is extremely difficult to come by, they closed my case with very little notice. After another month or so, I eventually managed to get some information based on the traffic lights and the information came back and stated that there had been no service requests on the traffic lights, meaning that they were working, stating that their client did skip a red traffic light and that he was entirely in wrongdoing. I posted my first complaint on Hello Peter and they reopened my case almost instantly, I receive a quote for my vehicle which was more than 90% undervalued, I then got an external company to give me a quote on my vehicle and it was a way more honest reflection of the damages that had been caused by the Outsurance client. I sent through the true quote to Outsurance based on the damage of my vehicle, they then sent a new settlement with attached an apportionment law, stating that I caused damage to the person who skipped a traffic light and wrote my vehicle off. Their proposed settlement was less than 40% of the market value of my vehicle, and this process is still in place. 5 months later and we are still in the same place, Outsurance is trying to give me as little as possible and prolong the process.
MY EXPERIENCE So on the 26th March 2020 I was in an accident with an Outsurance client, he skipped and drove through a red light, smashed into the front driver's side of my vehicle and it has been written off. I have 3 witnesses that can confirm this, Outsurance only called one of them who confirmed that my light was green, I had right of way, and guess what - I AM STILL DEALING WITH THIS CLAIM. They have offered me a settlement that in my perspective is extremely ********* and *******. The settle is around 40% of the claim amount. I have been offered an apportionment settlement, and Apportionment means that both parties contributed to the accident up to a certain extent. Where I stand, the only reason I had anything to do with this accident was due to Outsurance’s client was acting *******ly and skipped the traffic light, resulting in this situation - yet I was in the wrong and I am getting undermined. Through this claim process and the acts that have been implemented, I am seen as irresponsible and have been told I have to pay for their damages that their client caused, why? Only reasons the Outsurance team knows. The lack of transparency, intentional prolonging of the claim process with the reason to make people so exhausted of the process that they will accept any offer just for it to be finalized is disgusting. I currently have no vehicle and no payout due to the greed of an ********* company that is only in it for their own gain. I really hope people start using better insurance companies, insurance that have the best interest of the people that they are dealing with instead of the intention of paying out as little as possible and dragging the claim process out for as long as possible. Outsurance, thank you for teaching me patience and another form of persistence, what you stand for as a company is extremely inhumane.
Your response to our service is naturally disappointing, but more so, this is the 2nd time you are approaching us via this forum, as we did not arrange proper assistance and feedback for you.
Our liability claims manager, Elizna contacted with an apology and also provided you with her direct contact details. She also discussed the reason for the apportionment with you. Elizna will revert with an update on the settlement as soon as possible.
We endeavour having this long over-die matter resolved for you as soon as possible.

OUTsurance
