Outsurance - you dont get what you pay for!
After a stone hit my BMW X5's windscreen that resulted into a crack right across the windscreen I have submitted a claim with my insurer - Outsurance. They have referred me to Glasfit Roodepoort. It took two days for them to get the windscreen. We agreed on a appointment for Wednesday at 15:00. When I arrived at Glasfit they did not have any installers. Today (a week later) The have arrived at my workplace to fit a windscreen. The windscreen was a non-genuine aftermarket part. They told me this is what Outsurance has approved. After phoning Outsurance they confirmed that this is what they are prepaired to pay for. My next phone call was to BMW Clearwater that confirmed that the windscreen that they want to fit is not a BMW approved windscreen and that this may effect my warranty. I am now still sitting with a cracked windscreen with no solution. Outsurance is not interested in assisting and I am strongly considering moving my R6295 premium to another insurer that will actually pay for genuine parts on your vehicle.
We cannot blame you for expressing your dismay at all.
The delay in ensuring the windscreen is installed, is unacceptable. Coupled to this, your disappointment regarding the non-manufacture windscreen our service provider wanted to install, is understandable. You have our sincere apologies for the service experience.
Our claims manager, Isabel, contacted you. She confirmed our service provider has now been requested to install the approved windscreen.
Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention as well as your understanding.
