Outsurance Woes: Undermining Female Client

The terrible service I have received from outsurance from October 2017 to December 2017. It all started towards the end of October 2017 after a heavy downpour when my BMW 320i(2011 model) got its computer box damaged. I reported the matter to outsurance and the car was fetched and to my surprise it was sent to *Randfontein Pannel beaters*. I was confused as the fault was with the computer box and nothing with the body work of the car but nonetheless I remained hopeful. After two and a half weeks I received a call from Jan from *Randfontein Panel Beaters* advising me the car is has been fixed by fitting a new computer box, however, the car was wasn’t starting…What does a proclaimed professional expect the client to do when me as a client knows nothing about the mechanics of the a car let alone fixing it?? I responded by telling Him(Jan) to speak to Outsurance as I only have a policy with Outsurance. Jan then advised they would take the car to another expert to check what the problem was, during this period, Outsurance never bothered to update me with the progress that was made with the car up until I enquire and its infuriating to being treated like dirt whereas I pay my premiums religiously every month. After being sent from pillar to post I was advised the car was ready at Randfontein panel beaters, upon receiving the car, I noticed that the sunroof and central locking mechanism the petrol gauge were malfunctioning, I tried raising it with the receptionists there and they advised that it was not their problem which was another upsetting eye opener that the bad service filters from Outsurance down to the unprofessional vendors you referred my car to. I finally received my car after paying excess of R4000.00 with the kind of ill-treatment I received..now take into account that I still raised the issues I was experiencing with the central locking, petrol gauge and sunroof mechanism, in January 2018 and I was STILL given a run around. Up until the car started with the same problem after a down pour in the month of march. I have reported the matter, the car was fetched and I am experiencing the same problem of Outsurance taking me for a ride ,no feedback or updates are given unless I call and to be frank im just expecting the worst because heaven knows where Outsurance took the car this time around. Im exhausted, upset to say the least and lost all hope I’ve ever had in OUtsurance. I have tried speaking the managers within the division of the case pertaining my car and for some reason they are always busy or make empty promises to call me back. I kept quiet the first time, I will not take that route this time, instead I will escalate this to the highest authority following every chain of command there is and next up will be the ombudsman.

Hello RamakobyaP

We are sorry about our belated response, but the entire claim was investigated. Coupled to this, please accept our sincere apologies for not having provided you with regular updates.

Nunu provided you with feedback on time lines and the report we received which confrirm the latest damages are not incident related.

The battery was incorrectly jump started, which is the cause of the damage. You already drove 10 000kms with vehicle when you notified us of the problem with the battery.

Please contact Nunu directly should you have any further enquiries hereto.
