Outsurance will save you money, but they will COST YOU YOUR SANITY!!!

I am an operations manager at my company for the past 10 years. I also deal with the insurance for our fleet services. We have been with the same insurer for 15 years and since the pandemic hit, like most companies we started looking for different ways to save wherever possible. We were paying around R100k per month for our vehicles and we looked for a quote from Outsurance who saved as close to R16K a month. The Outsurance sales person had been convincing us for so long to move to them as we would not only save but we would never regret as they pay their claims out within 48hours. it was difficult to move as we had been with our insurer for so long with no hassles, problem was just the premium. After two months of working on a quote and ensuring that everything is done correctly and Outsurance knows and understands our needs we finally signed on the dotted line - THIS IS WHERE OUR HELL STARTED. In the second month with Outsurance we had a claim for an Apple Watch that was ****** and Outsurance took us from pillar to post not paying the claim. it has been three months and I have still not received report of the watch been paid. We also had a claim for a cracked windscreen for one of our vehicles, Outsurance forced us to pay and they would reimburse us, it has not been three months and they still haven't been paid.

We tried to complain to our broker and he informed us of his personal issues and he would not be able to attend to our matter then. I complained to the his sales manager, Kevin in Bloemfontein and he was not really interested in helping as he would also not return our calls and when he did answer he would make promises that he has not kept. My director instructed me to cancel our insurance with Outsurance immediately. his main concern is if they cannot payout a claim for an Apple Watch, what more a written off luxury car of over a million, which happens often in our line of business.

We have since moved back to our old insurer, though they are slightly more expensive the service is absolutely impeccable, payout in 48 hours, they keep their promises and no call centres are involved in transacting with them. We as a company now know that cheap is always expensive in the end.

Good day Lydia,

Thanks for bringing this matter to our attention.

Further to our private response, we can confirm that Warren our claims manager contacted you to discuss the claims in detail. Please note, the claim for the watch was settled and paid in October 2021, Warren has provided proof of payment.

It was naturally concerning to see that the claim for the windscreen wasn't registered. Warren has advised you to provide the invoice for the windscreen and we'll register the claim.

We do apologise for the poor service experience.

Regards,
OUTsurance
