OUTSURANCE WHERE YOU ALWAYS GET SOMETHING OUT IN INACTIVE ACCOUNTS

I had a claim with Outsurance last week with damage to my house and car. The car claim is already dealt with. The house claim however is a headache thanks to the advisor dealing with the claim. Everything went smooth until the payment. I added my savings account to the email requesting him to please make the deposit into that account. He phoned me back on the Tuesday afternoon while I was in consultation with my eye specialist (and while my eyes were soaked with eye drops) asked me to confirm the last four digits of the account. I told where I was and that I had no papers with me. He then asked me if the digits he read to me sound fami****. I recognised the 8,3, and 6 and said I think so. My new savings account which I provided also has a lot of 8s, 3s and 6s. On the Thursday I phoned him again to give me that four digits again because there was still no payment into my account. He gave me the digits as 8364. I told him that account doesn’t sound fami**** to me. Eventually he told me to go to my bank so that they can check on my accounts whether I had such an account. I asked him for the full account number and he said that ha he can only give me that. I came back and told him the bank doesn’t have anything on that four digits can he please give me the full account number. This time miraculously it wasn’t a problem so I went back to the bank again! We then discovered that the money was paid into an account that was closed on 9 June 2014 already. I told him that account is not active why didn’t he pay the money into the account as requested on my email. He told me he doesn’t have the authority to do so. I told him that was very strange because the people handling the motor claim didn’t had that problem as the account was added to my policy. He even told me that my yearly payments since 2014 was made from this closed account. Since 2014 my yearly payments was made from my cheque account. Now he expects me to stand in the cue for a letter from the bank that the account is actually closed after he confirmed that it indeed was closed. The bank can’t supply me with such a letter. After all the good service I received in handling the car claim now suddenly I’m having all this trouble where I have to run around fetching papers. My work doesn’t allow for me to stand in cues all day. This wouldn’t have happened if the advisor just adhered to my request.
