OUTsurance - Tried to sell my to the Auction House before an outcome for the claim had been given.
We had an accident and in short were bul**** by Outsurance to write the car off, when we said no we wanted it repaired they did not like it as the quote they sent had been over inflated. We got a quote for half the amount but this was not good enough. We then found out why. They had taken the car without our consent from the Outsurance Yard to Auction Nation, it had been booked into stock so they could sell it, my insurance on the car was cancelled without my authorization to which I had to fight with them to put it back on. We then told them we want to collect the car from the Outsurance yard but they said no we will tow it to you. I now know why because it was not at the yard as they had said (voice recording) but at Auction Nation yard. We then told them that we would be taking the matter to the Ombudsman. To which they said we can take it. All this was done prior to them telling us that they would not do the claim. Then to add insult to injury Outsurance cancelled the service plan on my car(without my authorization) even after they said they would wait for the Ombudsman outcome. So now Wesbank are saying we are in arrears for something that we did not ask for which is a ********** transaction as we never signed to have the service plan cancelled. All the underhanded action on Outsurance was shocking. The damage to the car is under the salvage ratio but they saw they could make money off it by selling it to the Auction House. They want to settle R126K but the damage to fix the car is R48K. This makes no sense. It is with Ombudsman. The reputation damage Outsurance is going to receive once i take to social media will be far greater than the amount to repair the car. i have documented proof of all of this. Maybe next time you take a car to Auction Nation you ask them to take the OR code sticker and the paperwork out of the car before you return it to the OWNER.
