OUTsurance takes money from bank account but claims I am not the main policy holder!!

I have home insurance with OUTsurance/FNB.

On the title deed of my property I am listed as a joint owner of the property with my ex-husband.

I pay the full OUTsurance premiums from my personal bank account. I have been paying these OUTsurance premiums from my personal bank account since the start of the insurance and for more than 15 years. I recently had a claim and OUTsurance is refusing to pay because the main policy holder is apparently my ex-husband.

We never elected my ex-husband as the main policy holder, OUTsurance did this on their own accord!

When I asked OUTsurance why I was not the main member they told me that when we took the insurance out, they decided to appoint my ex-husband at the time to be the main member without my consent!

I have been trying to fix the problem with them but so far I have had no luck.

How is it that they are very happy to take money from my personal bank account and they simply elect my ex-husband as the main policy holder and now they simply refuse to pay the claim out based on these technicalities.
