outsurance service not the same

I been a outsurance customer for over 6 years and had like 2 accident claims. The 1 first claim few years ago was all good service and all, however this 2nd claim has been bad. not from outsurance side, they have assisted me with with a speedy claim but the car rental option they gave me isnt really not good for business.

outsurance gave me a car rental for 2 weeks while car was being repaired, 2 days before my car was ready ******* tried to break in the rental car while i was busy hiking, they did not succeed, however they damaged the door lock. only the lock nothing else. i went to report this to police station got case number and now the rental company wants to bill me R4800 access for a damaged lock!!! and wont also give me R1500 deposit money back.

I phoned outsurance asking what the hell is going on and they said they cannot help and i must pay R4800.

I really think R4800.00 for a damaged lock its totally ridiculous and this is not my fault they tried to break in car. i did report it to police so this is totally unfair for me to pay almost R5000 FOR A DOOR LOCK!!!

I dont know how this will be resolved but i think after all these years they let me down........

Hello Shaheem

We fully understand the excess you need to pay to the rental company, following the damage caused, will leave you out of pocket, which we are not insensitive to.

We obtained full detail from the rental company and as per the agreement you entered into when you took delivery of the vehicle, it was clearly stipulated that an excess will be payable to them directly, should you have an incident with their vehicle.
Our claims manager tried to call you to discuss the above and proceeded to leave you a detailed voice message.

Regards
