Outsurance sales team harasses prospective clients

A month ago I called Outsurance for a QUOTE on household insurance. At the beginning of the call I stated that this was just for information purposes. It was the first time I reached out for any kind of insurance - so I just needed information.

At the end of the call, the agent tried to push me to take up the product that I was trying to find information. I was not going to take up any product on this call, and perhaps in another month I would consider it again. The agent sounded disappointed, and ended the call.

Not even 5 minutes later I received a call back from that agent, and she said "please hold on while I transfer you"

And I found out I was transferred to her manager, who then proceeded to give me a better rate for a product that I was just getting information for. I complained to the manager that I:

- Communicated up front I was getting information, - It was not about the cost for me at this moment in time, - I did not ask for a better rate, - I was not even told who I was being transferred to or why. - Thinking back on it now, it was A VERBAL quote, where I was not even provided any terms and conditions for in writing - that was being pushed on me to take up.

I communicated with the manager that I would reach out when I was ready, and was frustrated that it felt like I was being pushed into taking up a product.

I received a call from OUTsurance perhaps 2 weeks ago from outsurance following up about the verbal quote that I was given, to which I communicated that I still was not ready, and I said I would call when I was ready. Which was already communicated??

Did the manager not communicate with the agent?

Clearly not - today alone I have received eight phone calls from Outsurance. EIGHT. In any world 8 phone calls in one day is harassment - god forbid someone has a full time job and can't even answer the phone.

When I finally picked up the phone I complained and said "why have you kept calling me all day?" I was told "but you told me to call me today" I said that while I was still contemplating the product, before I was called and transferred to a manager in all attempts of making a sale.

This was the worst customer experience I've ever had, for a product I STILL don't have enough information to even take up if I was interested. At this point I'd rather go for something more expensive after this harassment.

Learn how to not be pushy with prospective clients Learn to listen to what people are saying to you when on the phone Don't harass prospective clients by forcing them to take up products.
