OUTSURANCE REJECTS A LIGITIMATE MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT CLAIM ON TECHNICALITIES // ZERO COMPASSION & ZERO FAIRNESS WHEN IT COMES TO GENUINE CLAIMS
My vehicle theft claim was rejected because the car “did not have a tracker,” despite the fact that I bought the vehicle with a tracker installed. Unknown to me, the previous owner cancelled the tracker contract months after selling the car, despite the agreement between us that it shall be terminated at the end of the current contract, something I had no control over and no reasonable way of knowing.
Despite submission of a confirmation letter from the prior owner’s tracking provider verifying that the vehicle was equipped with an active tracker at the time of purchase, the claim was nevertheless denied. The evidence further establishes that the tracker was subsequently terminated, and the previous owner has confirmed that their attempts to notify me of this termination were unsuccessful.
This was a bona fide mistake, yet OUTSURANCE Insurance refuses to consider any mitigating factors and hides behind technicalities to avoid paying a legitimate claim. Their approach is rigid, unfair, and completely against Treating Customers Fairly.
Instead of acting in good faith, they punish customers for issues caused by third parties. but consumers should be warned: OUTSURANCE Insurance has zero compassion and zero fairness when it comes to genuine claims.
Further to our private reply, our claims manager Anje contacted you to discuss your complaint.
A tracker was a condition of cover when cover was accepted, and you were aware of this. Your claim was circulated to multiple stakeholders within the business and unfortunately the decision remained unchanged.
We have asked that you refer your complaint to our internal dispute team for further review.
We are sorry for the disappointment.
Kind regards,
The OUTsurance Team
