Outsurance R500/1500 quote promotion

I would like to share my experience with Outsurance. We have an insurance with Auto and General and we were very happy until a week ago when they raised the price with more than 20 %. So, at that point we decided that it is a time to look for another offer. My husband did phone Outsurance and after a long question answers conversation for more than an hour (we all know that) we got a price higher than our original price – around R 300. At that point the gentleman from Outsurance told my husband that he qualifies for the following promotion: If they cannot provide you with a price lower than yours, after you fill in some documents online you should be receiving an amount between R 500 and R 1500. We were very surprised but we decided to fill in the form on the internet. Well, after we tried numerous times to enter the amount that we were paying per month for at least 10 times, we had to send an e-mail to the following address-'***’ and wait for reply. Hi, the window does not allow me to write the insurance amount and there for I cannot submit the claim. Please assist. The next day we received the following e-mail from Raymond Pretorius: Good day Quote: ***4 Kindly forward the requested to this email address. Please note that the schedule cannot be older than 2 days. We need your Full Policy Schedule (not a summary) to do a proper comparison. The information needed: • The full policy schedule in PDF format. The policy schedule must not be older than 2 days. • The excess structure. • The main underwriting information. This includes: Vehicle make and model, Claim history, Personal information, Regular driver/s, Risk Address, Security, Type of use, Licence details, Sum insured, Type of cover, extra's etc. • The existence of additional vehicle benefits such as: Car hire, Extended 3rd Party cover and Credit shortfall. Free benefits like Help@out and the OUTbonus will NOT form part of the comparison. We were very surprised that it says “Not older than Two days” – who changes their insurance every two days? Not to mention that in the letter that we did receive it says that you should have an insurance for at least 30 days, which we had. I did send our full insurance plus the review which was starting from the 1 July with the sum which was still lower than what they have offered us. I did send this n the 26th June. Well, on the 29th we had another message from Mr Raymond stating: Kindly request a full policy schedule which is not older than 2 days. Kindly note that the schedule attached which has been printed on 25th of June is not a full policy schedule. He had the full one and the partial one. It was our fault that my husband did send him as well the amazing quote which we got from Miway for a lot less than both of those companies had offered us and of course his reply was: Kindly note that the attached policy has not started as yet. Please note that you need to have existing cover for at least 30 days for you in order to claim from the promotion. At that point I could not stop myself and I did ask him: We have sent you our insurance which was dated 25th of June, but you did say that it cannot be older than 2 days. Can you please explain to me the following paragraph in your adverti*****t: 3. Part of the information required above will be a schedule of your existing insurance cover, confirming that the insurance was effective for at least 30 days prior to the date of our quote. This schedule may not be older than 30 days. Not two days!!! When people get an insurance, they don’t get letters every few days to prove that they are still paying. Maybe Outsurance does that – who knows. “ So not to our surprise we were rejected: Kindly note that this mail serves to confirm that you do not qualify for the promotion as the policy with MiWay only starts today and the schedule needs to be active for at least 30 days for you in order to qualify for the promotion. Kindly see the attached snip of when your policy will be starting. Not even a word about our existing insurance! My question is the following: Why offer something when you know very well that you will make people’s life a misery for nothing. All the insurers have all our details anyway. So, all this is a kind of ****!
