Outsurance R500 pay-out IS A ****!

I contacted Outsurance for a quotation for Home and content insurance. After a number of questions and answers, the agent gave me a quote of R2334,09. Telling him that that is 50% more compared to my current monthly premium, he ask a few more questions and confirmed that he will arrange for R500 promotion (Outsurance not beating current premium). I have contacted them now 3 times (twice with their Pollelo and once with an Angus) and now suddenly I am told that they actually could not give me insurance due to flood risk in my area - strangely as this was never mentioned during the 3 times initial interactions AND the property in our area also not the DWA 100years flood lines documentation. Other properties in our area also also fully insured with no mention of flood risk (as per comms in our CPF group). The only reason I believe they came up with this "excuse" is to save money. They also did not want to send me email (so that I have proof of this statement by them), confirming their view that the property area is in a flood risk area! BOTTOM-LINE: Outsurance "we will beat your current quote of give you R500" is a sham/****! I propose owners contact other insurers directly of get a broker to do the job to get the best quote for insurance for your moveable/immovable items AND NOT OUTSURANCE!
