Outsurance , Outbonus , Out the door
I've been a client of Outsurance for more than 10 years , and I've gladly marketed the insurance and got countless of people to join the insurer cause I feel the service is that good. But as happy as I end up being with my insurance I can’t overlook some of the tactics used and how the effects of me using my insurance pans out.
Earlier this year I had an insurance nightmare where first the kitchen tap and cupboard got damaged then the geyser gave in and caused some water damage I called the help it out guys who assisted and I'm so impressed cause they mapped out what had to be done , I was also impressed with Outsurance cause they had my back. The geyser was replaced the ceilings were painted and not replaced as recommended. Recently the lights fusing and/or exploding with big pops and flashes of light , the fire place seems damaged and streaks of water is mapped out from the top of the ceiling. I would like to state on record this is not me wanting a claim logged or additional assistance.
I decided to write this to inform the next person that might have a similar problem and what is expected to happen. And this is even if they want to lodge a claim , reason being the Out Bonus thing is held as something you won’t be getting for years ( guess what to bad ) the premium increase at the financial year end is ridiculous , it’s as if you not allowed to claim but if that is the case what is one to do. The increase is risk profile related but if something breaks inside my home what must I do over look it and just except that
A. I can’t afford to fix it out my pocket B. Use money out of my own pocket
Or option C pay the insurance and hope nothing goes wrong cause I would be too afraid of ever claiming.
Outsurance is a good insurance but a sneaky little insurance it seems , but If this is the case I will take my business somewhere else.
After responding privately to your review, we escalated the matter to Lauren our client services manager.
Lauren contacted you to address al the concerns you raised. The OUTbonus is a rewards system for being claims free. Should you have a valid claim you will forfeit the OUTbonus. Rescue assistance and windscreen chip repairs, will not affect the OUTbonus. At rerate stage there are a variety of factors that will influence a premium increase such as claims, underwriting changes, inflationary adjustments etc.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address your concerns.
We do apologise for your disappointment.
Regards,
OUTsurance
