Outsurance old car insurance add missleading people

Outsurance ad on radio states that if you take insurance on your old car that is paid up you can get cover for a max axcess of R1000 and a low premuim with 1 million 3rd party cover I called and they sent a quote that was double the premuim of my full conprehensive cover for R5 million.the axcess was also R4600 not R1000.When I queried this the had a lot of bull stories that it goes according to a persons profile etc.I did not have a claim in 35 years. Then they resent the qoute now slightly below my full comprehensive cover for this so called special again.now ny cover was for only R17000 for theft on ny 2005 volvo S 60 that is still worth R60000.Again they callwd me and when I complained they sent a 3rd qoute again higher than my full comprehensive cover for much worse cover.Outsurance are misleading people.Hollard is much cheaper for the same cover outsurance offers.Watch out try other insurance companies first before just taking up ousurance offers.I pay less tan R400 for a much better cover than from outsurance. They tried to charge me R800+ for far worse cover with a lot of limitations.Only 1 million 3rd party where I get 5 million and full comprehensive covering full amounts for theft roadside assistance car rental etc.

Good day Kallie,

Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. We wanted to address the matter with you and provide you with proper feedback, unfortunately you informed Buko our sales manager that you do not want to engage any further with OUTsurance.

Herewith a brief description of essential cover versus comprehensive cover:

Essential cover is specifically tailored for vehicles that are no longer financed and older than 5 years. The standard excess is R1000 however this can be increased to reduce the monthly premiums. The client is also able to select the sum insured for theft, hijack and accidental damage.

Comprehensive cover is for client's that would like to be insured for the full retail, trade or market value, which ever best suits the client's needs. The standard excess on comprehensive cover is R4600 however clients can opt to either increase or decrease the excess to suit their specific needs.

We would like to have an opportunity to discuss this further with you however we respect your wishes not to further engage with you on the matter.

We do apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,
OUTsurance
