Outsurance Mafia

I’ve the past 2 days I’ve been trying to review my policy with Outsurance to no prevail. I’ve been with outsurance for 8 years and from a lost ratio perspective, they’ve made money hand over fist on my account - contributed at least R72k and claimed below R40k I’ve the period). This week I got a premium increase of 40%, which I understand is the maximum increase they can impose on policies. After trying to understand what justifies the increase, the agent and their supervisor and manager basically tried to pull the same boring rhetoric about risk, inflation, etc. When I asked what has fundamentally changed on my profile, considering that by all accounts I’m a profitable customer, they told me that I made a claim in March. 1 claim! And therefore deserve a 40% increase (30% due to the claim and 10% due to inflation). This was apparently confirmed by their Actuarial department. If this is not unfair treatment, I don’t know what it! As a frustrated consumer, I’m definitely going to report this to the oumbads! There is nothing fair about this treatment!

Needless to say, they refused to review the increase. Now I’m trying to cancel my policy and they are keeping me holding for over 15mins at a time and they drop the call! It seems to me that Outsurance is using a mafia strategy to retain unhappy customers - weigh you down until you are exhausted and don’t cancel.

Hello Bongani

We are so sorry to read about the unfortunate service experience and steep annual increase.

We can confirm your policy is now cancelled. Our client care manager has been trying to reach you, to discuss the reason for the increase, without success.

Regards
OUTsurance

I’m curious to hear what other explanation your client care manager will give me outside of what has already been said about the Match claim. Unless OUTsurance is grasping for straws trying to justify the unexplainable.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the explanation.
