Outsurance leaving a client to fit the bill
I have home insurance with OUTsurance, Notified them of a leaning boundary wall. This moved due to the heavy rains we have had in KZN. I called in to report and at the time was told the wall hasn't fallen over yet, i need to call when there is actual Damage. Heavy rains came again, and part of the wall collapsed. I reported it. An assessor came out and my claim was approved for the section that fell, The entire wall has been damaged, and i was advised that now they have seen the wall they will pay for the section and i have to repair the rest. They have had service providers out, and as expected, non of the would only repair 1 section of a wall where the rest of it could fall any minute .... very unhappy with this, we have been affected very badly by the recent storms. we have home cover for this type of situation.. I feel let down
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Our assessing manager contacted you and your concerns and our initial decision to only cover the part of the wall which had collapsed.
We reviewed our decision as confirmed we will do a cash settlement to your account to have the remainder of the precast wall repaired.
Thank you for your understanding as well as the opportunity to have assisted you.
