OUTSURANCE is OUT-OF-TOUCH
OUT-of-touch & OUT-rageous Wanted to add items to BUILDING POLICY, namely a solar system that has been installed with approved installer and COC. I live in a secure residential estate with 24/7 security , access control & armed patrols.
Here are the questions being asked by call centre agents from underwriters “because after 2 years we need to update info of THE BUILDING”: “Do you have dogs?” “Do you have burglar bars on all opening windows?” “Do you have burglar doors on all external doors?” “Do you have an alarm?” “Is the alarm linked (to armed response)?” “Do you have infrared beams?” “Have you heard of a burglary in the past year?” (Refer to the transcripts)
What has a dog got to do with the tiles, the geyser and/or an electrical fault claim that I will have for the building? OUT-rageous and irrelevant. Unless of course the dog bites the installer who is replacing the blown geyser. What does burglar bars have to do with my building ie tiles, geyser, hail damage to tiles, electrical fire etc. OUT-rageois and irrelevant What does an alarm have to do with building damage, geyser damage, rain or hail damage, lightening damage ie building claim? OUT-rageous and irrelevant. All that underwriters are doing is generating irrelevant data to push up premiums. All the questions relate to HOUSEHOLD CONTENTS policy and the associated security data required. A HOUSEHOLDERS POLICY i do not want from OUTSURANCE.
I challenge the underwriters to come to my home with a clipboard and pen, stand in front of the home with my policy document under their noses and ask these questions and explain their relevance. I will pay for the call-out.
OUTSURANCE is OUT-OF-TOUCH. The questions are OUTRAGEOUS and not relevant or applicable. They ONLY drive a data set that only serves objective to drive up premiums without taking into account complete details ie secure residential estate with 24/7 security.
The call centre agent stated that I would be called back to explain these irrelevant
Of course that hasn’t happened either.
We don't blame you for expressing your dismay at all and fully understand your frustration.
Our client care manager, Michelle contacted you and apologised for the involved underwriting process you were subjected to as well as the poor service which followed.
Thank you for your feedback and accepting our apologies.
