Outsurance is heartless

I will like to share my horrific experience at outsurance in the past 2 months regarding claims. My mum 75 years old had a break in on her premises and many items where ****** out of her garage in December 2023 and she put a claim through for this incident which took forever to come to conclusion. Last week 13 January her house was severely affected by the heavy rains and completely damaged and all her belongings where lost due the the water level being almost a meter in the house. The claims department started the claim for the flood damage and sent through some assessors for damage caused. We were advised today that the claim for the break in now was rejected due to not enough signs of forced entry after the door frame was broken for the burglars to enter and now excuse her for a *****ulent claim and because of this reason outsurance is now canceling her policy and also the claim for the flood damage leaving her homeless and with no belongings. Please be careful with outsurance they are looking for any reason to not pay out claims due to the disasters we are having recently and are heartless company with no compassion for lives. A 75 year woman and my neice with her 3 kids youngest 5years old have lost everything and were counting on outsurance to be there for them are now homeless and will never be able to repair the home without the aid of insurance..can anyone afford that.

Thanks for that reply. My mum is 75yrs old and outsurance is accusing her of a *****ulent claim for a house breaking which has nothing to do with the claim for the property damages after the flood. The claim on the property was in the process and would of been approved. It is clear to me that outsurance is looking for all means to avoid paying for the house damages which could be a substantial amount.. Where is the fairness in that when people are left homeless due to technicalities. If this isnt resolved between my mum and outsurance without going to the ombudsman I promise I will use all my power to expose and cripple outsurance in court. This conclusion by outsurance has made my mum very ill and I won't stand for it until jobs are lost. This is now a personal war for me to battle.

Hello Errol

Further to our private reply to you, we received comprehensive feedback from our assessing manager.

The house breaking claim was rejected and the reason for the rejection was discussed in detail. This led to the policy to be cancelled.
The storm claim which was submitted after the house breaking claim, cannot be settled as the incident date was after the policy cancellation. These discussions were held with the contact person on the policy, your niece who also resides in the house.

Your niece was in contact with our assessing manager in the interim as well. The rejection letter has since been sent to your niece.
