Outsurance is big on empty promises. Client's please be careful when you insure your vehicle as the retail and market values on your car changes when you first insure to years later when you need to claim
My vehicle is insured with Outsurance for the past 5 years. I was looking at other insurers as my premiums are relatively high and always increasing. I decided to get a quote from King Price which I was impressed with. I tried cancelling my policy with Outsurance on the 22/09/2017 to which they gave me a hard time as we where on the call for more than 30 minutes, which then cancelling finally happened. I then called King price on that same day to ensure myself I was doing the right thing as my premiums was going to be deducted effective 01/10/2017. Bradley from King price gave me an amount of R47000 for retail value for which my car will be insured for. After hearing this I called Outsurance back again on the 22/09/2017 because I know my car 2015 vw polo trendline is currently insured for market value amounting to R59600, John had taken my call and he even assured me that this is the correct price according to my policy. How can both parties give me different amounts if they both claim to be using the transunion auto dealers guide? Outsurance claims that the market value is R59600 and retail value is R62762. King price claims that the retail value is R47000. After speaking to both parties I was highly upset because I did not know who to believe. I called King price in that same day to stop the debit order, and then called John from Outsurance again to reinstate my policy. After careful consideration over the weekend, I recalled back to 2015 when I needed to claim from Outsurance, Donny Van Wyk had sent an email to me on the 30/11/2015 stating that my cars retail value is R47000 and market value is R44100. This raised a concern! Hmmmmmm. On Tuesday morning 26/09/2017 around 10:00 I called Outsurance and Daylin De Klerk took my call, I advised him to let me speak to a manager as I was highly upset, but he had assured he wants to help. I asked him what is the market value amount which my car is insured for, and he had rep**** R59600. I asked him if he could give me this in writing to which he answered yes I'm sure I can, but I will first need to speak to my manager. I then asked him asked him how can my market value currently be R59600 and in 2015 it was R44100, did my car suddenly appreciate in value? Hmmmmm. Daylin was now confused, he told me to hold on as he went to check with his manager, he came back to my call n told me he would call me back 30 minutes later. Today is the 29/09/2017 and I have not gotten any feedback from Outsurance. They are struggling to hold onto current clients while they battle to intrigue new clients. This service is pathetic from Outsurance, I do not not know if they are avoiding the truth or hiding from their lies. Can I please get response on the above.
Good day,
Thank you for notifying us. Fairbridge our client services manager contacted you to discuss the reasons why the value increased. There are times when it is necessary to adjust a vehicle's value when the prescribed value in the auto dealers guide is lower than the true replacement in the market. We always do our best to insure our client's are placed back in the same position they were prior to the incident.
Thanks, Kelvin
