Outsurance is bad as other insurance companies

I am currently receiving a bad service from Outsurance and they are doing everything in their power to reject my claim. I received a call on the 3rd of January 2021 that my house in Durban has been broken into and vandilised. Doors, door frames etc were ******. I then flew to Durban from JHB and called outsurance(Claim number ***) and also opened a case at Hillcrest Police Station. The house was unoccupied in December as tenants had moved out and was in the process of getting new tenants for January 2021. On December 22 I had people coming in to cut grass including my estate agent and the property was in good condition. they were there for 2 days working. Now I find it hard that outsurance will not pay my claim as the house was not unoccupied for more than 60 days as it says in policies. I have been calling them for 3 days trying to get an update and no one cared to call me back and when they eventually call, I am told that they are rejecting my claim pending it being presented to management, which I dont know when will that happen. I am really not happy with this service and I thought Outsurance was one of the good insurance companies but its clear that they are all the same.

Hello Sandile

We are so sorry to see how our service let you down and thank you for letting us know.

Our claims manager has since arranged proper assistance for you and we discussed how insurers view vacant vs unoccupied properties when claims arise.

Our assessor confirmed the settlement amount with you and we are pleased to know you are satisfied with the outcome.

Regards
OUTsurance
