Outsurance is a *******... BE WARNED

I always thought Outsurance was a good Insurance company until I had a claim (the first in all my years of paying premiums!!) I am now convinced this company is a *******. Be warned!!! Contacted Outsurance Monday 12th March to report an incident with my pool and the surrounding paving. The agent confirmed the cover under building insurance and they would send out an assessor and a pool company for a quote. The assessor arrived on Thursday 15th March, walked around the pool and told me how this pool would definitely need replacement. He further enquired when it happened to which I responded a couple of days ago (Sunday 11th March to be specific)… he walked around some more and asked the pool guy how much he thinks this would cost to fix. The pool guy proceeded to verbally lay out the costs of a replacement (taking into account the hole, no need to drive away rubble, couple of things he could reuse etc. etc). He then ask, how old do you think this pool is? The pool guy responded “probably a couple of years old”. He then proceeded to REJECT the claim based on wear and tear!!!!! Are you kidding me??? YOU USE UNQUALIFIED assessors to look for reasons not to pay out claims… without any sound basis…Does paving collapse because of wear and tear?? Really do you think we customers are uneducated?? This after the pool guy explained to you all the scenario’s around how this could happen. In the meantime the pool is becoming worse by the day! Should you refuse to reconsider I will refer this matter to the Ombudsman. I AM DISGUSTED with Outsurance!! *** Do not use this company!! ***

Good day,

Elmarie our assessing manager has discussed the claim in detail with you. All recordings have been sent to you as per your request.

Firstly, I have received no recordings! Secondly I asked for a reassessment (as is my right). Elmarie telephonically declined this and would only send a manager to "explain the policy to me". Does she think I am uneducated? Furthermore as per my last email communication with Elmarie I have referred the matter to the Ombudsman. It's a pity Outsurance failed/chose not to resolve this amicably!! Once again Outsurance is a huge RIP-OFF!
