OUTsurance has an Angel in Cape Town

On 5th January 2023, we set off early in the morning to drive back to Johannesburg after spending Christmas holiday in Cape Town. At around 03.30 on N1 our car broke down and within 5 minutes a Patrol car stopped to check on us (didn't ask for their names but it was a coloured lady and a black gentleman) who decided to park behind us and wait for help to arrive. We contacted Outsurance for roadside assistance and Macro Odendaal diligently processed the claim. Within a short period of time an SUV stopped in front of us because when my wife phoned OUTsurance she mentioned we were five and would need a lift. Followed by a tow truck, the car was loaded and taken to the nearest dealership. We didn't know what we were going to do after dropping the car at the dealership, which was just before 5am. The owner of Towing company, who came to rescue us offered to take us to his house until the dealership opened at 7am. I was surprised by his gesture as I believed his responsibility ended when the car was dropped at the dealership. We went to his house and the wife woke up and made us teas and coffee. The Owner sat with us the whole time, telling us stories, until it was working hours and he started making phone calls for a car hire as we didn't have that option on our policy. To cut a long story, he took us back to the dealership then we went for breakfast, and he was still busy trying to arrange affordable car hire back to Joburg. Around 11.00hrs we were sorted and ready to go home. I would like to Thank OUTsurance for sending an Angel at the time of need and that is FOLAMI TOWING SERVICES and specifically to Terence and his wife for their hospitality. They made us forget that we even had a breakdown. I would also like to Thank AVIS CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (Roshuda and her team) who acted to quickly and efficiently and to the two Traffic Officers (wish i got their names) who protected us until help came. Lastly, I would like to Thank Marco Odenaal from OUTsurance for his professionalism, diligence and care as he phoned us several times to ensure we were assisted and were safe.
