"Outsurance gives you R400 if they can't beat...." - blah bah! Not true!

On 26th September 2018 I was called by one Mr Thando Hlatshwayo, a sales advisor from OUTsurance offer me a quote. We went through the long quoting process whereafter it emerged that OUTsurance was unable to beat my current insurance. Thando appeared to deliberately skirt this issue and simply apologized and thanked me for my time. I stopped him before he could quickly hang up and I asked him about the promise that they always make in their ads of R400 in these circumstances. Reluctantly, he acknowledged that it was so and that I qualified for the amount. I had to interrogate him further about the process to get the amount given the higher premium AND excess that Outsurance had offered to me. Thando stated that he would send me an email shortly after our call to which I must reply by attaching a copy of my current policy schedule whereafter the payment of 400 would be made to my account. To date (5 days later) Thando has failed to send any such email to me. The unavoidable conclusion from the way that Thando addressed this issue during our call and his subsequent failure to act on his promise is that OUTsurance is avoiding to pay me this amount that they promise so boldly in their adverts. It is quite disappointing that the integrity of OUTsurance is placed in such jeopardy over an issue so menial.
