Outsurance Essential

I app**** for this insurance for my Mitsubishi Mirage older than 5 years not financed and under R125000 in value.

In my own opinion I should be a very low risk:

1. +- 20 years continued insurance 2. Zero claims in all my years 3. Low crime area 4. Parked in a garage behind a closed gate. 5. 48 y/o male with no accidents in the whole period.

However the quote I got was R1100 with a R3500 excess or R950 with an excess.

I then settled on R250 for third party insurance only.

I was not insured for a period . But cant see how this would affect my risk that much. If i dont pay premiums i'm not insured so 0 risk for them.

In my opinion the whole outsurance essential ad campaign is false adverti*****t.

Clearly outsurance is with my quotes not even trying to be affordable or cheaper than normal insurance. Or does the commision they pay sales agents have an effect. Dont know wont recommend Outsurance to anyone.

I am not satisfied with his reply. please communicate with me by email only. He refers to some defaults. I cannot remember the policies he refers to and ofc dont keep years and years of records just to some day be able to say "yes but i paid that installment on the 15 th or it was deducted with the next months installment. Also it seems a bit cynical to keep records for longer than you are supposed to. And to share it with other insurance companies? I can also not recall any such recorded default on my credit profile and had a near perfect credit record then and as well app**** for credit often so cant remember any mention by anyone. Person who conducted the lengthy phone application(why can this never be done online (such a massive and big detractor to getting insurance or changing insurance) never mentioned my past payments of outsurance premiums as a risk factor? please explain how this is a risk factor . From a certain time I have never been able to get cheap insurance on this vehicle. At first my Santam policy skyrocketed to R1100 then i think I managed to get a premium of R450 from miway which also snowballed to R600 in a few months. I am wondering whether there is data sharing between insurance companies. As this makes no sense. I am currently in a situation where I never get cheap insurance anymore. And I wonder whether Outsurance and friends are to be blamed for this?

please explain why this is not mentioned in your ads. Please add to your ads "if you miss 1 payment you will never get cheap insurance ever again." This is very lousy and petty behaviour, After all there is nothing I can do to change this. And it seems Outsurance holds this against a customer or a previous customer for the rest of his life remember in 1960 you missed 1 payment and now you have to pay R400 more for the rest of your life. Petty.

also why can one never pay by eft. i asked the person who sold me the policy to immediately process the deduction. she did not and the next day after interest and costs were deducted from account payment bounced and i have to fork out another R150 just because there is never a ****** option to pay by eft. a company like santam allows this. i dont want debit orders on my accounts anymore but seems outsurance and co is stuck in the 80's still with their technology.

Good day hpj P,

Thank you for your feedback.

Premiums are based on your own unique risk profile.

Lucas our sales manager has been in contact with you to discuss your quote in detail and he advised you of the underwriting factors that have an influence on premium.  There are a number of factors that we take into account when determining the appropriate premium for a client such as age, make and model of vehicle, previous incidents, insurance history and many other factors. Please note, we only work via direct debit and not EFT.

Lucas will liaise with you via email. It's a pity we couldn't offer you a better premium.

Regards,
OUTsurance

Ok can you change it to a direct debit.  will pay it as soon as i have funds and from thereon monthly and then jump to better insurance in a couple of months.

guess it will only be a stepping stone then.  still do not agree with the "insurance history" factor as far as i can remember i never had business insurance.  or missed a premium as claimed.  are you absolutely certain?
