OUTsurance - DO NOT BE FOOLED by big advertisers - False advertising
You know how OUTsurance advertises they will beat any written insurance?
Don't be fooled. I phone to sign up thinking I will be paying less than my with my current broker. Firstly they do not offer complete excess waver, which I currently get. Secondly their quote turns out to be almost R1000 more than what I currently pay. Keep in mind I have also not claimed in the last 3 years. I have claimed twice in my entire life and I'm 44.
They end up coming down with the price to about R300 more than what I'm currently paying. I still decide to sign up because I thought they are a good company. Boy, was I wrong...
I receive my sign up letter and discover, that it is not the same as what I signed up for.
I phone to speak to around 4 different people, transferred from one to the other. I finally talk to a senior advisor which tells me he will listen to the calls and get back to me. Around the next day, I get a new schedule, where my payment is now less but my one car is removed.
I follow up with another call, again being transferred from one person to the next, keep in mind you can never speak to the person you were speaking to before, so you have to repeat the story again. This time also speaking to a senior, she tells me they changed it because they listened to the recording, I said they could not have listened to it because if they have they would know I have two cars, why was one removed?
I decide to cancel my sign-up before it has even begun because I don't want to go through so many calls, the day that I am really in trouble. I asked how to go about it and she states no action is needed from my side they will cancel it but firstly transferred be to another person trying to persuade me to stay, which I say no to and that no further calls are needed, just cancel the policy. This was 3 weeks before the first scheduled payment.
Today I decide to follow up, a week before the first scheduled payment, as I have not received and cancellation letter. Guess what..? It has never been cancelled. Again speaking to different people, this person also assures me she will cancel it and send my a cancellation letter today. It is no 18:30 and I have still not received a cancellation letter. She also refused to give me a reference number for the call.
This means tomorrow, I would need to phone again to speak to different people about the same problem. How do I get rid of these people? My next step would need to be the ombudsman and if the payment goes off my account I will declare them for *****ulent transactions.
I have asked them not to call me again, I just want my policy cancelled, I have decided to stay with my current insurer.
DO NOT BE FOOLED
