outsurance collecting data without consent

Several months ago and after an insurance experience that could potentially see Outsurance in hot water (I was not told the truth about another insurer that came in under the premium they quoted in an effort to keep my business), I was able to move my insurer without much issue afterwards as the CEO's got involved.

However, I forgot to uninstall the Outsurance app from my phone. This morning, after arriving at work, I saw a message on my phone that my telematics are being recorded by the Outsurance app.

A huge invasion of privacy as I did not authorize Outsurance to be able to gather this data, nor was I informed about this, NOR WAS I AN ACTIVE CLIENT OF THEIRS ANYMORE.

The amount of laws broken by this could see people go to jail, since this is a ******** offence, and since they have set a precedent last year, which could see them lose their license, I figured I'm also tired of being quiet about these kinds of practices and going to the company to complain, as their complaints resolution (and ombudsman) doesn't give a ****.

So here is my public review of Outsurance. Stay away. They're NOT cheaper. You will NOT save any money and they're NOT your buddy as they will collect data on you without your consent.

Reviewer Update
Hi, this is a review only. Apology not accepted. Take a dinner plate, throw it on the ground and have it break into pieces. Now tell it you're sorry. Is it fixed? No. I don't want to hear from management, they're unable to fix these issues, and all I get is another apology. I'm done with Outsurance and I hope people that is smart enough to check up on things like this before making a decision, will heed my words.

Good day  AcidRaZor,

Thank you for your feedback.

We fully understand your concern and we can guarantee you that none of your driving data was recorded. You received notification pop ups that indicated trips were being recorded however that was an error as you did not register for SmartDrive.

Regards,
OUTsurance
