Outsurance Claim ***

Outsurance always get something out. What a joke, really should consider changing your moto. I have been with Outsurance for 4 years now and have never made a claim against the insurance. On 20 September 2017 a Taxi drove into my daughter. The assessor came out to assess the car. The Car was then taken in by Auto Salon in Randburg on 27 September 2017. After two weeks we heard nothing from Auto Salon and we contacted them when we were advised that they are awaiting delivery of the bumber and that the estimated period for delivery would be 24 October 2017. On 23 October I had telephoned Auto Salon and was told the Manager changed the collection date to 25 October 2017. I requested that the Manager contact me to discuss the matter. He did not return my call. On 25 October 2017 I arrived at Auto Salon and waited an hour because they were still busy with the car. When they brought the car out we asked what was done to the car. We were then advised that they had replaced the Fender and Bumper Cover, they painted bumper cover and Fender and had matched the colour to the original colour. They supp**** and fitted Bumper slide Head lam and Fender Liner. My husband then looks under the car and discovered that the bumper was the old bumper and they had just clued the old bumper together. So in other words there were no new parts fitted to the car. When my husband said to Auto Salon that this is not a new bumper only then did the guy tell us that after the assessor recommendation Outsurance changed it and told Auto Salon to repair the bumper and spray it again. As we touched the light of the car the light of the car was loosen and almost fell out. The colour that they used to spray the car is also not the same colour as the other part of the car. Whilst still at Auto Salon I contacted Outsurance and was advised that they have the right to change the assesors’ recommendation. Worst of all I was told by the Outsurance consultant that because the car is nearly paid up they do not supply new parts and they have the right to do so. We requested that we see the Manager of Auto Salon. He refused to come speak to us. Eventually after 45 minutes he comes out with the key of the car. It was a laughing matter when we showed him that the lights of the car is about to fall out. He assured us that when he checked the car that the lights was tightened. We did not even drive the car so how did the light come loosen. I left the car with Auto Salon.

After having the car for a month, the Bumper was glued together sprayed. That is what was done to the car and Outsurance expects me to pay excess of R5000. I could have used the excess and have taken it to my own panel beaters and iam sure they would have done a better job.

The consultants at Outsurance are appaulling. My contact number is ********** 134.

Hello rozconway

Since we have received your complaint, various interactions have taken place between several staff members and you and your husband.

We are sorry about the long time it took us to have the vehicle repaired. Our staff discussed the detail for this as well as for the repair of the bumper opposed to the replacement thereof.

You have since notified our offices of workmanship issues identified. Our assessing manager will provide you with feedback and discuss the way forward.

Regards

OUTsurance
