Outsurance charging ''uneducated'' people higher rates than ''educated'' people for Life Insurance
After seeing a an advert on DSTV on Monday, 02/07/2018 around 18h25 about Outsurance's Life Insurance I decided to call them for a quote. I spoke to a guy called ''Steven'' (if I'm not mistaken) and he explained everything to me and asked me question relating to whether I had any other life policies with other companies. Then he started asking me questions in order for the quotation to be generated. Amongst the questions he asked me was what is my highest level of education, after answering him I went back asking what the relevance of that is for the quotation. I also wanted to know how this information would affect the outcome of the quotation.
His verbatim response to me was, ''statistics reveal that uneducated people are a higher risk than educated people when it comes to life insurance.''
SO ... in my own words (based on Outsurance's response above) ... people who are ''uneducated'' and who might be earning lower salaries due to being ''uneducated'' are paying MORE than people who are educate and probably earning more money. (e.g A person who has a DEGREE will be paying LESS than a person who has a grade 9 or 10 certificate for Life Insurance)
Outsurance:-
1. Please explain to us exactly how this works without making the excuse that the Consultant I spoke to was a trainee and did not have all the facts. 2. Please also explain what exactly is ''educated'' and ''uneducated'' according to your dictionary?
