Outsurance - and my Captur Claim
I would like to share an ongoing incident with you regarding my Outsurance Claim. I moved to Outsurance from Miway about a year ago. I did not add a rental car onto my policy ( my mistake there). I had an eldery gentleman reverse into me about 3 months ago - i put in a claim for this. The legal department said they would try and get my excess paid by the other party. After doing everything I should - seeing the police, presented the photos etc. I have heard nothing back. Well just before the car was to go into the panel beater for this bumper bashing, i had a misunderstanding with gentleman and their large trollies on the road. I subsequently hit the pavement and caused a great amount of damage to my car. Outsurance decided to repair my car and not write it off. The car has now been in the panel beaters for about a month. I am contacted constantly by the panel beater, but the problem now is that there are missing parts which are not available in the country at the moment. About a month they think before they can progress with the car when they get the bracket. I contacted Outsurance and spoke to a lady Millicent i think and explained that i do not have a car to get to work as the one i borrowed now needs to go back. This is the first accident I have had in 30 years of driving. I added a rental car to my policy as soon as I realised this was not on the policy. I asked very nicely if it was possible to give me a rental car as mine was going to be at least another month and a half to fix. I was told I would be phoned back - that never happened. I phoned again and spoke to a gentleman who said he would leave a message for the lady to contact me - again no response. I phoned again the following day and got hold of a lady who said she could help, she went off to speak to someone, and came back saying that it was not possible to give me a rental car I must just cope with life. Firstly this is my first accident in 30 years of driving, secondly I pay my debit order every month. I get my 10% off every month for good driving. Perhaps before deciding to fix the car they should have checked on the parts availability. I would have thought as a gesture of goodwill they would have offered me a rental car seeing as mine was going to be months before I get it back. I am a very unhappy customer. As soon as my car is fixed I am moving back to Miway. I think I deserve better treatment than I got. Kind Regards Judith Harrison
