OUTsurance

When one sees infomercials where a company prides itself in customer service and claims a slogan such as "You always get something", please know that "something" can mean anything from money to a middle finger in your face. COVID-19 has affected all of us in some or another way. For our family, it has been financially. At the end of January 2022, we were unable to pay our insurance premium. Last week sometime, I got stopped in the middle of our street and threatened to be stabbed by two guys if I didn't hand over my phone. One would think that your insurance company with a slogan like "You always get something out" would at least bring relief to your life. When I made a claim with OUTsurance for a replacement on my phone, they told me that I would have to pay the month's premium first. So, I borrowed money and paid the premium. But mind you, having to deal with the stress of financial issues and then the trauma of being ******, my insurance now tells me that my premium was paid late and therefore they are not paying out the claim. Never mind the technical issues regarding all of this, where is the humanity in it? Having to deal with everything that I have dealt with, a multi-billion Rand insurance company who has collected thousands of Rands in premiums from me now catches me on a technical issue and refuses to pay me out a measly R5000. I am already struggling financially, how am I still to afford a phone, especially when I need one in my line of work. I'm still struggling to come to terms with the *******, now I must come to terms and struggling with understanding why my insurance company would do me like this after we've been loyal customers for so long. It's heart-breaking really.

Good morning Solomon,

Further to our private reply on receipt of your complaint, we can confirm that Angel has been in contact with you.

This entire process has been traumatic enough and we are truly sorry for adding to your stress.

Your claim has been authorised and we will handle the service transgressions internally.

We wish you all the best and thank you for your loyalty.

Regards,
OUTsurance
