03 Mar 2020, 13:19Good day Hetta,
So sorry to read about the loss of your husband, condolences to you and your family.
Stefan our claims manager contacted you to address your concerns and to discuss the reasons for the rejection in detail. There were 2 premiums missed prior to the passing of your husband and we sent notifications to both the cell number as well as email address you are currently using. The notifications indicated the date that we would resubmit the missed premium and it also stated if we didn't receive premium there would be no cover for the period. No contact was made with us regarding the missed premiums.
The Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance agreed with our decision. Unfortunately, there is no refund applicable.
We do apologise for the disappointment.
Regards,
OUTsurance
