OUTsurance 3rd Party Liability Cover = ****...especially if you're a pensioner

On the 31st May 2016, an OUTsurance client hit my uninsured car (2008 BMW 1Series convertible) ~ airbags popped, driver's door wont open, car is undrivable ~ basically a writeoff. The Pensioner submitted his claim to OUTsurance and I started dealing with this exceptionally useless Ms Lynette Govender.

Sent her all the docs she required and started processing my claim for R55k in repairs. She rejected my claim and said that "since both parties were turning right, the claim is being rejected" - what bull**** is this??? The Pensioner went back to Lynette and didnt get any joy still.

Got my attorney to sue the poor Pensioner, he pleaded to us to hold the case as he needed time to deal with OUTsurance and resolve the matter amicably. OUTsurance did not budge.

We pushed harder and proceeded with summons. Useless Lynette came back and said that they were now willing to settle amicably (6 months later) and offered to pay an insulting R24k ~ saying that "saying that since vehicles were in motion during the time of the accident, they will only pay 60% of the claim" Again, what bull**** is this??? So

1. Are SA's traffic laws so bad that they allow two vehicles to legally turn right at a T-junction at the same time?

2. Are SA's traffic laws so bad that is one silly driver decides to drive onto oncoming traffic and crashes your car - they are only liable for 60% of the resultant claim?

Now, I feel sorry for OUTsurance's Pensioner client because of his insurer's greed and highly ********* logic, he now has to:

1. Subject himself to a painful court experience (on top of all the harassment he endured from my lawyers

2. He must pay R55k from his own pocket

3. The pay legal fees...which are still piling up since the matter is still not closed (7 months and counting)

With all this experience with OUTsurance, they still tried to offer me insurance and talked about R400 if they cannot beat my current insurer's premiums - utter bull****

I feel that OUTsurance ****med the poor old pensioner out of his premiums and are prepared to drag this matter till he meets his demise - all in the name of profits.

I had considered insuring my new car with OUTsurance, but thank God for this experience I was able to pass them on - I would not recommend them even to my worst foe. OUTsurance's 3rd party liability cover is their cash *** and a high level ****.
