OUTSURANCE - 3RD PARTY CLAIM

On the 07/02/2020 our company vehicle was in an accident on Kenneth & Elaine Road, Homelake, Randfontein. Our Driver was coming from DIY Randfontein over the bridge and was driving ±20-30km per hour because of the weather that was so bad. While driving on Kenneth Road towards Elaine Road a white car on his left hand side bumped into him from the side. The guilty party said that she did not see the vehicle because of the bad weather and the heavy rain; she did not see the Stop sign and therefore did not stop. Outsurance offered us a settlement claim of R3335.11 for our vehicle and said our vehicle is uneconomical to repair. The consultant that assisted us with the 1st claim Tshepo Maleka said that we can take our vehicle to the s**** yard and get the R11 888.42 for our vehicle. After numerous fights with the consultant, I eventually spoke to Lebogang Senne, I said to him that we wanted our vehicle to be fixed and Outsurance refuses to it because according to Lebogang Senne, Outsurance don’t fix 3rd party vehicles. I have left numerous messages for Elizna Hofmeyr to return my call but to no avail according to Lebogang she is next in line. I did talk Lebogang yesterday and explained to him that the next step is to go to the media and his response was its fine because that is the way it is and even going to court won’t make things better. The offer now stands at 80% settlement of R9489.26 and 20% of the guilt is ours. They cannot pay out a 100% because our vehicle was not bumped from the back and our vehicle was stationery. Our vehicle is written off and Outsurance refuses to fix it because prior to the accident the consultant informed that there were other damages and Outsurance cannot be liable to pay for that. My request to him was just to fix what was damaged in the accident, and he said that is not possible as Outsurance refuses to deal with 3rd party settlements. Outsurance in really just for the defence of their clients and don’t worry about the 3rd party person or what their losses are. We feel a humiliated and offended about the offer, because Outsurance used to be Top of the Range and their Reputation used to precede them, but after this incident and the service we will not recommend Outsurance to anybody and to be honest its extremely disappointing service.
