OUTraged - Car key EXCESSive.

I've been with Outsurance now most of my adult life, with a short break in-between when I was out of the country. Collectively around a 15 year relationship with this company.

I recently lost my car keys, checked my insurance documents and to my delight, found that it was covered under their comprehensive vehicle insurance. I called the Business client care line and was told they could assist me, however, the vehicle excess of R6000 odd would be payable. Considering the replacement key is between R2100 and R2850, based on the quotes I had received, I found this to be a little irregular. I then asked the agent why it was so high, to which he told me, I pay the same excess for a car key, as I do for an accident.

He then went on to tell me they have launched a new product, which if I had taken, would've drastically reduced the amount payable by me. However, this product was never offered to me, nor was it automatically added to my car cover. They have never missed an opportunity to increase my premiums annually, or send me an e-mail regarding same. Yet, they cannot send me an email regarding something that actually would help me OUT.

I'm genuinely disappointed in your service and think it's high time I take my business elsewhere.
