Online quote not a possibility.

I went online to get a quote for car and contents insurance. After I had entered the basic information, I was presented with 2 options online: 1. Give me a call 2. Start quote

Now, upon seeing these options, logic says if I select "Give me a call", someone will call me and we can do the quote over the phone. However, if I select "Start quote", I would not have to speak to anyone, but could get a quote online.

Imagine my surprise, when I clicked "Start quote", and I was directed to a page that said thank you for your enquiry, someone will call you back.

I was called quite quickly by a lovely sales agent. But my issue is not with her. It is with the fact that I really didn't want to speak to anyone (which is why I did not click "Give me a call".)

And then, besides the calls I would get, I am also inadvertently harassed by sms and email, not only by Outsurance, but also by whoever they sell my information to.

If the only way to get a quote from outsurance is to speak to an agent, then stop pretending, and put that loud and clear on your website.

Thanks Carla

Hi Carla.

You are right to want an informative, user-friendly website and we agree with you that the option to start a quote should state that you will be getting a call. We are very sorry for this experience. We definitely understand your concern and have escalated this to our Digital Technicians for urgent review and assistance.

Currently we can only quote you over the phone and via a face to face agent. Please accept our apologies for the aggressive telesales calls and sms's, we have requested your details be listed on our Do Not Contact list. This will ensure you do not get any calls or sms's from us going forward.

Regards
OUTsurance
