Once bitten, twice shy.

My partner and I decided to join Outsurance as they managed to beat our current insurance price, after numerous tries. The broker was told numerous times that we want no excess. The recording will testify to that.

We then went with Outsurance and cancelled our insurance, but when we read the policy, we noticed that there was an excess on the building.

We tried numerous times to call the broker at the number he gave us to contact him in future, but to no avail. We then spoke to another agent who said she'll correct the excess, but premium will increase. We told her that is not what they promised and she said they'll get back to us.

Well, they just sent a new policy document with no excess on building, but increased payment by about R55.00 pm. Not any money at all, but it's the principal that counts. Well done to the so called manager that didn't bother to check their recording and for losing new business for the sake of R55.00 per month. If they had checked the recording, they would have surely come back to say that it's their mistake and that excess will be waived with payment staying the same as promised from the outset.

This makes us doubt their honesty from the onset and we've now re instate our old insurance and cancelled Outsurance. Beware of their smooth talking agents who will tell you anything to make a quick buck and the recording will not be worth anything.

Most certainly an excercize in how to NOT conduct business ethically!
