Not happy with OUTsurance
I got a call from OUTsurance today stating that if I claim on power surges and lightening I would have to pay an excess of R10 000. I just claimed on some appliances that stopped working when we had the loadshedding that was dropped on us and I was unaware. Unfortunately I claimed twice last year for tvs because of a power surge and lightening. I have been an OUTsurance client for years and unfortunately I cannot control the weather or the electricity and I am really angry at the way I have been treated. Now I want OUTsurance to tell me what appliance that blows because of a power surge costs more than R10 000. When I claimed now I was given the option of canceling my claim. Have you ever heard of that I am appalled. Also the vacuum they replaced my dysan cordless vacuum with was the cheapest they could find so you have a top of the range dysan and they replaced it with the bottom of the range. (GO AND LOOK UP A DYSAN CORDLESS VACUUM) I wonder why I am paying insurance. I am a pensioner and cannot pay R10 000 excess. It is way more than my monthly pension. Shame on you OUTsurance. I thought you looked after your old longstanding companies.
Thank you for raising your concerns with us.
Lee-Anne our client services manager has been in contact with your wife Dianne. Lee-Anne discussed the excess endor*****t in detail with Dianne and has also advised her to install surge protection plugs to try minimize damage to appliances due to power surges and dips.
We are sorry for the disappointment.
