NEGLIGENT ASSESSING OF INSURANCE CLAIM
4 February 2015 we reported an insurance claim on our Ford Everest. The radiator was damaged along with the bumper and front end of the bonnet. Outsurance appointed their assessor to assess the claim and the repairs were undertaken. We collected the vehicle from the Highway Body Shop in Pinetown, KZN, on 25 February 2015 and the vehicle overheated 15 minutes after we left the Highway Body Shop premises and the vehicle was towed back to the Highway Body Shop. On 26 February 2015 we wrote an email to Outsurance setting out our concerns about the fact that the radiator was never replaced and discovered that this was never included in the work order from Outsurance's assessor to the Highway Body Shop. We also raised the concern that Outsurance would use the same assessor for the second round of repairs that were envisaged. Outsurance ignored our correspondence and concerns raised on 26 February 2015. We collected the vehicle for a second round of test driving on 31 March 2015. The vehicle overheated again and is now back at the Highway Body Shop. 8 weeks have passed. We have a family of six being transported in a Hyundai Getz which requires two trips. What action will be taken?
