Misleading information
I have 3 policies with outsurance. In order to keep my premiums affordable, I was told by outsurance that I should call them before the anniversary date each year to recalculate my premiums before it increases.
This arrangement worked fine for me for years until know 2023.
On 19 June 2023 I called in, as usual I was helped accordingly and to my satisfaction.
The consultant that assisted me, confirmed that the premiums that was calculated for the 3 vehicles will be until the next anniversary date in 2024.
On 18 July 2023, I received an email stating that my premium for one vehicle will increase on 1 September 2023.
Not only did my premium increase but my basic, glass and radio excess increased.
Upon investigation, I was blatantly told by Mr Mason Williams that is my new premium.
One has to regularly investigate our policies, because nowhere does it say that our excess has been increased. To me this is ********* as we decide on our excess, how does the excess we decide on is due to inflation? Is outsurance increasing excesses in order to keep premiums low?
We understand that receiving an annual increase comes as a disappointment.
After responding privately to your review, we escalated the matter to Nadia our client services manager. Nadia has been unsuccessful in her attempts to reach you. On the anniversary of your policy there will be an annual increase where both your premium as well as your excess will increase. There are a variety of factors that will influence a premium increase at rerate stage such as claims, inflationary adjustments etc. We send all rerate notifications 45 days prior to the rerate taking effect.
We have provided you with Nadia's email address below. Please advise Nadia on a time and date that is most convenient for you and Nadia will in turn call you to address your concerns.
We do apologise for the inconvenience caused.
