Misleading Advertising
I am the policy holder of an insurance policy I have for my cars only. My daughter is listed as a contact person. She has her car which was insured bu another company. Outsurance has a "Refer a friend" promotion as on successful switch, I get R1000. So I refer my daughter. She gets a call from Outsurance sales. It starts off well and she gives them her ID number. They see then that she is a contact on my policy and suggest that I instead add her car onto my policy and once the first payment for my new premium goes through, I will get the R1000 for successfully referring a friend. The new payment goes off my account 01.09.2024 and after a few days I call to enquire about the R1000 commission. "I am sorry" she says (Outsurance consultant), "my colleague was wrong by telling you so. It is only granted on a new policy and because it was an existing policy, you do not qualify". Seriously? This was on the advice of the Outsurance representative. I asked to have the matter escalated to a supervisor and that I be contacted by a supervisor or manager. A few email reminders and a week later, nobody has reached out. This is false and misleading advertising.
